Introduction

 Dear Reader,


To introduce this blog, I am going to ask a question: 
Why Rose Rising?

Well, let's talk about each part separately to better explain, beginning with Rose.
The most obvious reason for the word "rose" is because I have red hair. It is also for other reasons, the more superficial reason is that I have a rose tattoo on the back of my ear. The more meaningful reason is that a rose has thorns, and yet it is a beautiful flower. I believe that to be similar to me and my story. There are many horribly painful parts that if I could, I would never let anyone see. Yet, I cannot hide the painful parts. Who would I be without them? But, despite that hope to hide, they are there, and if one were to move past that, one would see something beautiful.

Now, the second word, Rising. I chose "rising" because it generally means going or coming above what came before. This blog will detail the process of how I am "rising" above those things. Like the Sun I rise again and again. (I have a sun tattoo as well!) Rising is meant to show that this blog is about growth and making of what you have been dealt and turning it into something great.

I am resilient, strong, and beautiful (so are you). I think that Rose Rising represents that.
In this blog, I hope to bring strength and hope, to others from my story. Though I also hope to write more light-hearted things. I hope to use this blog to tell my story, but I also hope to talk about other things... like the fact that I am about to turn 21! Anyways, I hope to "see" you soon.

Creative Genius (Week One)

          During the second half of class, we are practicing the art therapy techniques and the theories that were explored in the first half of class. At the end of the week, we are to create a blog post about the class and the art that is created. In this first class, we just discussed the concept of being a "Creative Genius" In that discussion,  it was argued whether or not we all had the ability to be a creative genius.
